“Will you be our friend?”
Is it a miracle that the seven loaves grew enough to feed four thousand people? No.
The miracle had already begun when the person who had the bread wanted to share it. Now we can make a miracle like that. If we have a mind to share with different people, we can really make a miracle.
I didn’t quite understand how Don Bosco could feed and dress thousands of Oratorio children while reading his book.At that time, Turin was hard to make ends meet. It was here in Tonj of South Sudan that I finally understood it.There’s a lot of family here at the Don Bosco Center.
We don’t have enough, but no one is starving to death now. In addition, people who live hundreds of kilometers away come here day and night to receive treatment and receive necessary supplies. Those things are all done through the love of people who are distributing them to us all over the world.
You should never say, ‘I’m poor, but I don’t have anything to share. ‘The patients in the leprosy village that I sometimes hear are happy to share their small things with others, even though they really don’t have anything.
When I see that, I can’t help but go there again.I am greatly moved by their innocent smiles like children and their sincere appreciation and happy life. They tell me how much joy I share because I don’t have much.
The hapeness of sharing
If we want to share, the hungry people in this world are gone.If you don’t say, “Of course, I’ll leave my family’s food behind and share,” or “I have nothing to share,” my neighbors, as well as those who are hungry for this world, will disappear. After hearing this gospel, we now have to live by recalling Jesus’ question.
“How much can you share?” Don’t think about the amount you have, but look for something to share.I’m heartbroken that there are still many people starving. We have to seriously think about how much we are prepared to share with others.
Praise Jesus! Amen.
